Community Engagement and Digital Activism Specialist

As a key member of our office in Peru, the Community Engagement and Digital Activism Specialist will be in charge of strengthening and maintaining a network of Oceana’s allies, including volunteers, activists, environmental groups, educational institutions, among others. He or she will be responsible for corresponding with existing enthusiasts, recruiting new supporters, engaging activists, and developing digital activists who identify with and support initiatives to ensure a healthy ocean and sustainable fisheries in Peru. The role aims to strengthen public knowledge and spark citizen engagement on issues related to marine conservation.
The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent of education and experience, at least 3 years of experience in social media management, and experience managing training and/or volunteer programs as well as well as environmental or fisheries-related experience.
